Community Activator Job Opportunity in New Zealand

Are you passionate about activating diverse innovative communities for impact? The Edmund Hillary Fellowship is looking for a full-time, experienced Community Activator to join their team on a six-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension. As a Community Activator, you will collaborate with global innovation leaders who are dedicated to making New Zealand a basecamp for global impact.

About the Organization

The Edmund Hillary Fellowship, established in 2016 in partnership with Immigration New Zealand, aims to attract global innovators to New Zealand to address the world's toughest challenges. With a community of high-caliber Fellows from over 50 countries, the Fellowship covers a wide range of fields including aerospace, blockchain, cleantech, education, storytelling, and social enterprise.

Job Responsibilities

As a Community Activator, your role will involve enhancing engagement and amplifying the impact of Fellows in New Zealand and around the world. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing pathways and initiatives to support Fellow connection and engagement
  • Building relationships and coordinating partnerships within the NZ innovation ecosystem
  • Creating quality communications and resources, including managing content on the EHF Online Hub
  • Leading Fellowship engagement and impact measures, including tracking and reporting insights

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should possess:

  • 4+ years as a Community Manager/Activator with a focus on action and impact
  • 3+ years of experience curating and managing events and programs online and in person
  • An understanding of Aotearoa New Zealand as a bi-cultural nation
  • Experience in community-led development and engaging with diverse communities
  • Proficiency in various software and tools including G-Suite, Squarespace, Campaign Monitor, and more
