Auckland Council is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Licensing and Regulatory Compliance department as an Environmental Health Officer.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance of food businesses, licensing of businesses engaged in health and hygiene activities, and enforcing relevant legislation. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining, protecting, and improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of the public. You will be involved in registration, verification, and inspection activities for food businesses, as well as licensing processes for hairdressers and health and hygiene establishments.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate should have previous experience in Environmental Health, particularly in conducting inspections and verifications for food businesses, operators, and health and hygiene premises. Possessing appropriate qualifications in Environmental Health or equivalent is a must, along with accreditation or approval as a verifier from an ISO accredited organization or the Ministry for Primary Industries. Familiarity with IANZ accredited organizations or other quality management systems is highly desirable. A valid New Zealand driver's license is also required for this role.
