Maxion Building Service is a reputable residential and commercial contractor based in West Auckland, operating across New Zealand. With a strong presence in the wider Auckland area and a diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking to expand our team by hiring a Quantity Surveyor.

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor at Maxion Building Service, you will play a vital role in managing all commercial aspects of our projects from start to finish. This includes working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to ensure adherence to commercial practices, contract law, and risk management. Staying updated on industry trends and new construction technologies is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating for residential and commercial projects
• Risk management and problem-solving
• Procurement of subcontractors and compiling agreements
• Assessing payment claims and variations
• Managing client relationships
• Price estimation and winning new projects

Skills and Attributes Required

• Experience with infrastructure and school tenders preferred
• Availability to work on Saturdays from 7:30 am to 12 pm
• Self-driven with a positive attitude
• At least 3 years of Quantity Surveying experience in New Zealand
• Familiarity with tools like CostX, Cubit, or similar
• Good understanding of New Zealand construction techniques
• Knowledge of NZS3910:2013 conditions of contract
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong skills in estimating and tendering projects
