About the Team

The Technician will be part of the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Auckland, working alongside a diverse and interdisciplinary team of technical experts. The Faculty of Science’s Technical Services Team, with over 100 technical staff, provides essential support to academic staff and students across various departments.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should hold a BSc (Hons) or MSc in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Pharmacology, or Physiology, along with relevant laboratory experience. Key skills required include:

  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and/or immunohistochemistry
  • Strong technical skills and laboratory management capabilities
  • Excellent time management, record-keeping, and communication skills
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently or in a team
