Lead the Integration of Tikanga Māori at FMA

Are you passionate about bringing cultural expertise to the design, planning, and implementation of learning in a financial services environment? The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is looking for a Pou Ahurea to lead the application of tikanga Māori across their organization. This newly created role based in either Auckland or Wellington offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is dedicated to better understanding and integrating Māori perspectives within the financial services sector.

Your Role as Pou Ahurea

As the Pou Ahurea, you will play a crucial role in building and developing the cultural capabilities of the FMA team. Your responsibilities will include integrating a te ao Māori lens into the learning and development initiatives of the organization. By assessing capabilities, identifying needs, and seizing opportunities, you will be at the forefront of applying tikanga Māori principles within the FMA.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should have a deep understanding of kaupapa Māori, tikanga, and Mātauranga Māori. Fluency in te reo Māori and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are essential. Your background in adult education, curriculum design, or group facilitation will be valuable in shaping the learning experiences at FMA. Strong communication skills, both within a diverse team and across different cultures, are key to success in this position.
