About You:

  • Experience: You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a civil estimator in New Zealand, with a preference for roading and contracting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic tendering systems like CCS Candy, Cost X, or similar tools is required. Training will be provided if needed.
  • Precision: Ability to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs efficiently.
  • Documentation: Competent in submitting precise documentation in a timely manner.
  • Multitasking: Capable of managing multiple tenders and client interactions simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled at resolving client issues with innovative solutions, demonstrating initiative and self-management.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

About the Role:

  • Tender Management: Actively participate in managing tenders and supporting business development efforts.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate project costs through meticulous research and data compilation.
  • Department Functions: Engage in various functions and activities within the estimation department.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate cost estimates and project feasibility.
  • Policy Contribution: Contribute to the development of estimating policies and systems, compile reports, and assist in creating guidelines for future estimates.
  • Scope Determination: Define the scope of work and project estimates by preparing a comprehensive list of bid quantities and items.
