Overview

Are you a seasoned Quantity Surveyor looking to take on a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of large-scale commercial construction projects? If so, this opportunity in Auckland Central might be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis
• Manage all phases of the construction cost management process
• Monitor and report on project costs and progress
• Prepare and negotiate contract documents, including bills of quantities
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure effective communication
• Perform risk and value management and cost control
• Provide advice on contractual claims
• Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, focusing on commercial construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Proficiency in construction cost estimating software
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, NZIQS) preferred
