Position Overview

The Team Leader Regional Consents position at Gisborne District Council offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable resource management in the Tairāwhiti region. The role entails providing expert planning guidance on consents, LIMs, and the application of NPS and NES, overseeing efficient processing of consents, and managing activities within the Consents Section. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead consent processing for all regional consents
  • Provide professional advice on resource management matters
  • Prepare resource consent reports and activity reports
  • Manage staff development and performance
  • Develop and maintain effective professional relationships

Skills and Experience Required

  • At least five years relevant post-graduate work experience in resource management planning
  • Sound knowledge of resource management legislation and best practice principles
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge of tikanga Māori
