Are you a confident and fully qualified veterinary nurse with a passion for surgical (both orthopaedic and soft tissue) and advanced dentistry cases? Manukau Veterinary Referral Centre is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. While experience is preferred, exceptional new graduates are welcome to apply as full training will be provided. As a member of our team, you must be a team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to upskill to meet the demands of the role. Expect the unexpected in this dynamic environment, as unscheduled cases may arise at any time.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Nurse at MVRC, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of advanced surgical and dentistry cases, including cruciate injuries, fracture repairs, and root canals. Your responsibilities will include: - Client and referring clinic liaison - Surgical admission and preparation - Advanced anesthesia and patient monitoring - Assisting with surgery - Equipment cleaning and sterilization - Post-operative care - Placement of IV catheters, intubation, and epidurals - General and dental radiography - Handover of patients to the overnight team for continuity of care

Located in Manukau, South Auckland, MVRC is a referral-only clinic specializing in surgical (soft tissue and orthopaedic) and dentistry procedures. Our focus on referral services allows us to deliver a high level of care to our patients without the distractions of general practice. With state-of-the-art equipment, we strive to provide the best possible care for our patients while ensuring client satisfaction. We offer 24-hour care for recovering patients in collaboration with Manukau After Hours Veterinary Clinic.

Work Schedule and Benefits

This full-time role at MVRC operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, with no after-hours requirements except for occasional Saturday morning work (mainly for patient discharges). The position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $26 to $32 per hour.
