Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for setting goals and driving growth? We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead a new era in a large food service wholesaler and distribution branch in Auckland. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for formulating the overall strategy for growth, sales, business development, and operations. Your role will involve setting goals aligned with objectives to grow revenue and EBIT for all divisions while prioritizing excellent customer service and maintaining operational excellence.

Our client, a prominent food service distributor in New Zealand, is looking for a leader who can take charge and drive growth while fostering a culture of excellence. The Auckland branch presents significant potential for future expansion, and the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in shaping its trajectory. You will be tasked with driving operational efficiency, maintaining high standards in areas such as inventory control, health & safety, and facilities management.

Develop Team Capabilities and Continuous Improvement

As the General Manager, you will have the opportunity to invest in developing team capabilities, fostering accountability, and driving continuous improvement across all levels of the Auckland branch. Supporting and guiding the sales team to deliver exceptional customer outcomes and sales growth will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will analyze financial data, manage P&L effectively, and identify strategic levers for business growth and profitability.

Requirements for the Role

To excel in this position, you should have strong general management skills with a proven track record of overseeing complex operations and driving growth. A solid understanding of business processes and functions, along with proficiency in maintaining operational efficiency, is essential. Strong leadership capabilities, analytical mindset, and the ability to act with urgency are qualities that will set you up for success in this role. Experience in the foodservice industry or high-volume product distribution organizations would be advantageous.
