Role Overview

The HR Manager position at MACVAD, based in Birkenhead with convenient car parking, involves reporting to the Head of HR. The role encompasses managing day-to-day HR operations to attract, engage, and retain talented individuals while aligning with the company's strategic objectives. This position offers a blend of hands-on HR tasks, project involvement, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing recruitment efforts with HR team support
• Conducting performance appraisal discussions and guiding individual development plans
• Providing coaching and mentorship to resolve issues and support learning across the organization
• Utilizing HRIS for data management and reporting for continuous enhancement
• Leading health and safety initiatives to promote employee well-being
• Assisting in managing Employment Relations
• Contributing to HR strategy and special projects

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role is a composed and experienced HR professional with:

• Solid hands-on HR management background
• In-depth knowledge of NZ employment law and HR best practices
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization
• A proactive problem-solving attitude to support managers and prevent escalations
• Strong decision-making abilities aligned with company policies and HR best practices
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS software (experience with Lanteria is advantageous)
