Key Responsibilities
As the Pest Plant Programme Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the strategic delivery of the Pest Plant programme across the Kaipātiki Local Board area. Your role will involve managing multiple projects, supporting volunteer groups, and engaging with community stakeholders to drive ecological action and restore native biodiversity.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this position would possess the following: - Experience in leading ecological restoration projects - Strong knowledge of pest plants and biosecurity risks - Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategic pest plant plans - Comfortable working in a public-facing role and communicating effectively with diverse audiences - Proficient in organizational tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and record-keeping - Passion for New Zealand native plants and wildlife conservation - Access to own transport for fieldwork (travel costs will be reimbursed)
