Responsibilities:

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing animal welfare, husbandry practices, staff, and facilities within the Ungulates section. Your role will involve promoting a science-based approach to all operations, supporting field conservation efforts, and aligning section activities with the zoo's strategic goals. Additionally, you will ensure an exceptional visitor experience while upholding the highest standards of animal care and welfare.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess: - Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills - Degree in a relevant field (biological/conservation sciences) or equivalent qualifications - Minimum ten years of experience in a zoo or related field - Commitment to conservation, science, and community well-being - Knowledge of environmental issues facing New Zealand
