Position Overview

Monument is seeking a skilled commercial underwriter to join their team in Auckland Central. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of commercial underwriting experience and a strong understanding of underwriting practices and regulations. Responsibilities include underwriting new and renewal business, developing relationships with brokers, and contributing to the growth and profitability of the business. The role offers opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and autonomy in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite new and renewal business to achieve premium growth and profit objectives - Develop underwriting standards and conduct peer reviews to maintain quality - Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Collaborate with the underwriting team to share knowledge and achieve common goals

Skills and Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of commercial underwriting experience - Good knowledge of underwriting practices and relevant legislation - Ability to provide excellent customer service to intermediaries and brokers - Strong time management and prioritization skills - ANZIIF Cert IV level qualifications or similar (preferred)
