The Minister of Climate Change is seeking expressions of interest for a position on the Nominating Committee for the Climate Change Commission. The Committee plays a crucial role in providing potential candidates for appointment as Commissioners of the Commission.
Specific Skill Requirements
We are looking for candidates with senior governance experience, understanding of policy issues (climate policy desirable), and knowledge of the impacts of climate change.
Collective Committee Skill Requirements
- Understanding of the Climate Change Response Act
- Experience in government and public policy
- Insights into climate change effects
- Knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori
- Recruitment experience
- Understanding of public sector context
Functions of the Committee
The Committee nominates candidates for appointment to the Commission and ensures robust and independent appointments as per the CCRA. It meets on an ad hoc basis and plays a vital role in the appointment process.
Fees
Committee members are paid a daily rate of $395 in accordance with the Cabinet Fees Framework.
