General Manager Full-time Job

Overview

Te Waka Pupuri Pūtea (Te Waka) is seeking a General Manager to lead their asset holding group, dedicated to developing a long-term investment strategy, fostering innovation, and ensuring inter-generational prosperity. This role plays a crucial part in safeguarding and growing Te Rarawa's commercial assets, aligning with their vision for economic, social, environmental, and cultural outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust long-term investment strategy in alignment with Te Rarawa's vision.
• Operational Management: Oversee the development of Annual Statements of Intent and budgets, ensuring operational priorities, risks, and financial performance are monitored.
• Business Development: Identify sustainable investment opportunities, pursue joint ventures, collaborations, and diversify revenue sources through innovation.
• Driving Organisational Performance: Foster an organizational culture, recruit and retain high-performing professionals.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with the Board, Te Runanga, marae, hapū, Te Hiku iwi, and other stakeholders.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards, commercial practices, and health and safety requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a bold vision, a track record of delivering results, and a passion for making a real impact. They should demonstrate expertise in strategic leadership, operational management, business development, organizational performance, stakeholder relationships, and compliance. Prior experience in a Māori environment is preferred.
