General Manager Full-time Job

Job Summary

The role of the General Manager at Velocity Made Good (VMG) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the business operations and driving long-term growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will provide strategic direction to the VMG division, lead a high-performing team, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the organization.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, VMG has worked with prestigious yachting events, race campaigns, Super Yachts, and internationally recognized companies. The company focuses on customizing apparel to align with clients' brands and partners with global industry leaders to provide comprehensive apparel solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for VMG
• Develop and implement business plans and strategies
• Oversee day-to-day operations including design, production, sales, and finance
• Lead and manage a team of sales representatives and key personnel
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Monitor market trends and industry developments
• Analyze performance metrics and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
• Demonstrated success in elevating brands/companies
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience with offshore manufacturing/supply chain (desirable)
• Ability to multitask, set priorities, and adapt to a changing environment
• Experience in the apparel industry preferred
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
