The Role

This newly established position, reporting to the Managing Director, is situated in Invermay, Dunedin. As Techion transitions from a research and development-centric approach to emphasize business expansion, commercialization, and technological enhancements, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing operational management, financial processes, analytical tasks, and reporting structures for the Techion group. The successful candidate will lead the New Zealand executive team in executing the business strategy, manage financial systems across the company, and undertake various responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, and timely reporting.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should possess substantial experience in a GM or executive capacity, ideally with a tenure of 5+ years. Strong financial expertise is essential, along with a track record of steering high-performing enterprises. The ideal candidate will be a personable leader and adept communicator, advocating for robust leadership in a high-performance setting. Experience in a rapidly growing, early-stage business environment is advantageous, as is proficiency in team leadership, financial oversight, decision-making, and problem-solving. Additionally, skills in staff recruitment, relationship building, business analytics, and policy development are valuable assets.
