Job Responsibilities:

  • Tender Management: Engage in managing tenders and business development activities.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate project costs through thorough research and compilation of relevant details.
  • Department Functions: Participate in the functions and activities of the estimation department.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate cost estimates and project feasibility.
  • Policy Contribution: Contribute to estimating policies and systems, compile reports, and assist in developing guidelines for future estimates.
  • Scope Determination: Prepare bid quantities and items to determine the scope of work and project estimates.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a civil estimator in New Zealand, preferably in roading and contracting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic tendering systems such as CCS Candy, Cost X, or similar software.
  • Precision: Ability to prepare quantity takeoffs accurately and efficiently.
  • Documentation: Competent in submitting accurate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled at resolving client issues and providing innovative solutions.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
