Overview
We are thrilled to partner with a prominent government organization to seek a dedicated individual who is ready to utilize their expertise in pest animal and plant management in an exciting new role. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to expand your field ecology background while taking on administrative responsibilities.
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 12 months (fixed-term)
- Location: Ardmore airport area (with travel to southern regional parks)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (flexible start times available)
- Compensation: $80,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance of contractors, staff, and volunteers to ensure project delivery aligns with standards and desired outcomes.
- Ensure project reporting requirements are fulfilled.
- Coordinate materials and services for conservation projects across the regional park network.
- Develop project specifications with guidance from senior rangers.
- Create annual work plans for designated projects.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in ecology, conservation, or environmental management.
- 3+ years of experience in pest plant or animal management or ecological restoration.
- Experience leading ecological projects, especially those with community-based outcomes.
- Proven track record in project delivery and contract supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- A current NZ restricted or NZ full driver's license.
- Desirable: Familiarity with GIS systems like Survey123 and Fieldmaps (training provided).
